Girls Hockey
2023-2024 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Medfield Youth Hockey (MYH) provides both girls and boys of varying ages and abilities, the opportunity to learn and develop skills to play competitive hockey, with an emphasis on teamwork and fun.
The 2023-2024 season will offer a standard Girls U8 Team with a full ~14 game season in the Allston-Brighton League, with 1-2 weekly practices and biweekly skills sessions.
The program will also offer a games-only Girls U10 Team with typically a ~6-8 game season. Most players on the U10 team also play on travel and/or club teams.

Ages
For the 2023-2024 season, team levels are determined by birth years as follows (exceptions are allowed):
- U8 Team: DOBs 2015-2017
- U10 Team: DOBs 2013-2014
When
- U8 practices/skills begin in October, with games played November to March
- U10 games are typically played November to March
Where
- U8 practices/skills are held at Norfolk Ice Arena in Norfolk and Jim Roche Arena in West Roxbury; games are played at Reilly Memorial Rink in Brighton
- U10 games are typically played at Norfolk Ice Arena in Norfolk
Practices
- U8 practices typically held 1-2 times a week, in addition to biweekly skills sessions
- U10 is a games-only team, so no practices are typically scheduled however impromptu practices may be held if ice time allows
Games
- U8 games are held on Saturday mornings, typically at 9 or 10am
- U10 games are held at various times on the weekends
Jerseys
Game jerseys are required for both the U8 and U10 teams. Information on jersey fitting dates and the ordering deadline will be shared soon.

Are there tryouts?
No, there are no tryouts for either team, just the required USA Hockey and MYH registration, plus registration cost
What is the cost of registration?
- U8 Team: $1,500 - standard team with full season of games, practices, and skills
- U10 Team: $280 - games-only team, typically a ~6-8 game season
Can players from other towns join the teams?
Yes! All Medfield Youth Hockey teams welcome players from other towns.
Are there any other Girls Hockey events?
Yes, the 'Medfield Girls Stick Together' program offers fun one-time events such as hockey clinics and game watches with the Medfield High School Girls Varsity and/or Middle School Girls Hockey players and coaches, and is open to ages 5-12 and all levels of girls hockey players. Additional fees may apply.
