MYH SKILLS
Medfield Youth Hockey is committed to providing high-quality, age-appropriate skill development for players at every level. Through partnerships with experienced instructors, our skills program focuses on building a strong foundation from skating fundamentals and edge work to shooting, game awareness, and body contact at the older levels.
Our Mite/U8 and Squirt/U10 players train with Dave Guden of L-Hockey, who emphasizes skill progression, confidence, and a fun, engaging learning environment.
At the PeeWee and Bantam levels, sessions are led by Bill Link of High Performance Skills, focusing on advanced development including skating efficiency, puck control, situational play, and checking techniques.
Together, these programs ensure MYH players are developing the skills, confidence, and hockey IQ needed to succeed at every stage of their hockey journey.
BILL LINK: OWNER AND LEAD INSTRUCTOR FOR HPS
Bill grew up in Acton, MA where he played youth hockey at both town and club levels before attending the Belmont Hill School. He returned to Acton Boxborough Regional High School where he played his final 2 years for the Colonials. Bill played for 3 seasons at the College of the Holy Cross and was a prospect for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although Bill chose to play professional golf for the better part of 10 years of his professional career, his love for hockey remained a constant. Bill is now in his 9th season as a head coach, coached for town and club programs, has attained his Level 5 Coaching Certification - the highest offered by USA Hockey , and is a certified USAH referee - Level 3. He is also an independent skills instructor for both town and club youth hockey programs in MA and RI. Bill currently resides in Walpole, MA with his wife and two children.
DAVE GUDEN: OWNER OF L-HOCKEY, LLC
Dave is owner of L-Hockey, LLC, a hockey organization training both youth and high school players mostly out of the Norfolk Arena.
As a Player: played at Providence College and a former draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings
As a Coach: former Men’s Assistant Coach at both Lawrence Academy and American International College. Former Men’s Head Coach at North Adam’s State College.
Current Associate Head Coach of the U15 South Shore Kings out of Foxboro, MA
