Squirt A Wins League Championship!

The Squirt A team upset previously undefeated Assabet Valley 5-2 in the league championship game in Westboro last night. Anchored by great goal-tending from Matt MacTavish and a great all around team effort, they never let up and beat a quality opponent for the first time in five attempts – when it mattered most. Medfield led 3-1 after the first period on goals by Tyler Marshall, John Schofield, and Ray Hilvert. Schofield added another goal in the second period and Jack Kelly closed out the scoring with a goal halfway through the third period that sealed the win. The team won 3 playoff games in consecutive days and finished the season as Champions!

Mites: Sunday March 3, 2013 8:00AM – 8:50AM - Norfolk Arena (for mite players who wish to try out for Full Ice Hockey born 2005 or 2006, other mites will play in the Cross Ice League per USA Hockey rules)
 
Squirts: Sunday March 3, 2013 9:00AM – 10:50AM – Norfolk Arena
 
Pee Wee: Wednesday March 6, 2013 6:00PM - 6:50 – Norfolk Arena - PLEASE NOTE TIME AND DATE CHANGE

Costs

• Mites, Squirts, Pee Wee, Bantam and Girls U14
  • 1^st player in family                         $1,375
  • Each additional player in family       $1,125    
  • Full Time Goaltenders                       $700

 
Payment Schedule

• $150 non-refundable Tryout Payment, due at time of registration
• 100% of tryout payment applied to the 2013/2014 season tuition cost
• $25 late fee assessed to all registrations received after February 28^th
• 1^st payment of $625 due June 1.  
• Final payment due August 1^st - $600 (or balance due)
• Multi player discounts applied to final payment

This app is described above and is for parents who want to look at the schedule for their player.  It is better than using a browser on your phone.

2. Leagueathletics Mobile -$5 
The app is for league administrators or coaches who want to enter scores or send an email to parents from their phone.  You can read my review of the app in the iphone's app store.  My alias is "Make it Fun 88", and the review is now listed in position 6.  Probably not worth it for most admin/coaches.

All families will need to register their players and coaches with USA Hockey and enter their USA Hockey number into their registration on our MYH website. 

As of 9/24/11:
Cost is $30 per player for those born 2004 or earlier.
Cost is free for those those born 2005 or after.

Below are the instructions should you need them:
 
Steps for completing USA Hockey Registration:

1.  Go to the USA Hockey Registration website:  http://www.usahockeyregistration.com/  and choose ice players & coaches option.

2. Follow the instructions and complete the registration for your player.  If you are coach, you must also register.  The cost is $35 per person. (For Players 6 years old and younger there is NO charge.)  You may register multiple players and coaches by following the instructions.

3. Once you have completed the USA Hockey registration, you will receive a USA confirmation with your number via email.  Please Note:  each year USA Hockey issues a new number - so it will not be the same as last year. 

4.  Next, log into your account in the Medfield Youth Hockey website by choosing the  “Edit My Account” menu tab which is located on the lower left hand side of the main page of the website.

5.  Click on the name of the player or coach. This will open their profile.

6.  In the middle of the page, you will see “USA Hockey Confirmation # “.  Enter the confirmation number you received from USA Hockey. (please double check that it is typed correctly).  If there is already a number entered from last year, replace the old number with your new confirmation #.

7. Click on Submit.  Repeat steps 5-7 for all your family’s players and coaches.

The process may sound long, but it should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes to register with USA Hockey and then complete the steps to update your account. 

Please Note:  This is a requirement mandated by USA Hockey for all youth hockey programs in the country.  It was put into effect in 2009.  USA Hockey no longer allows programs to register players on their behalf.  A parent or guardian of a player must complete the USA Hockey registration.
 
Those players who have not registered with USA Hockey and have not entered their numbers into their MYH registration will not be able to practice or play with their team until registration is complete, and may become ineligible to play in state playdown tournaments.
